Defective Gun Sights

L-3 Communications EOTech is in the crosshairs of a lawsuit regarding the sale of known defective holographic gun sights to consumers such as hunters and those who shoot for sport, for which they started selling to the public in 2000.

EOTech as since admitted after their lawsuit with the Federal Government that their holographic gun sights experience significant performance issues in more extreme climates. Sighted issues are:

• “Thermal Drift” – when sights experience a 20-degree temperature change
• “Reticle Dimming” – when in areas of fog or high humidity
• “Increased Paralax” – when being utilized in much lower temperatures

All of which can affect the accuracy of the sight and ultimately the shooter by as much as 20 inches for every 100 yards. And when accuracy is affected, not only are the performance of the shooter compromised, but also the safety of both people and property.

Furthermore, EOTech is accused of defrauding the Department of Defense, Homeland Security and the FBI by knowingly selling defective gun sights so that they can tout their military “credibility” to boost sales to the consumer market.

If consumers had known about the decreased accuracy and performance, they would never have invested $500 or more into such a faulty product.
